Baseball entered the World Series on a stronger note in the Nielsens.

Saturday’s Dodgers-Braves National League Championship Series Game 6 averaged a 3.5 rating and 6.95 million viewers on TBS, topping the Cardinals-Dodgers NL Wild Card (6.67M) as the most-watched Major League Baseball game on TBS since 2018.

The Braves’ pennant-clinching win, which peaked with 9.3 million from 11:30-11:45 PM ET, increased 62% in ratings and 63% in viewership from last year’s Saturday afternoon NLCS Game 6 between the same two teams, which aired on FS1 (2.15, 4.28M). It ranks as the most-watched NLCS Game 6 since 2016, with the caveat that there was none in 2017 or 2019.

Atlanta turned in an 18.1 rating, the market’s highest for a Braves game since 2005.

For the postseason, Game 6 ranks second in viewership behind the Yankees-Red Sox AL Wild Card on ESPN (7.69M). The Dodgers’ 12 total postseason games rank among the 17 most-watched.

Shifting to the American League, Red Sox-Astros Game 6 drew a 3.05 and 5.81 million on FS1 last Friday night (6.18M across all Fox platforms) — up 61% in ratings and 68% in viewership from last year’s Friday afternoon Astros-Rays Game 6 on TBS (1.9, 3.47M) but down 31% and 22% respectively from Yankees-Astros on FS1 in ’19 (4.4, 7.47M).

Houston’s series-clinching win, which peaked with 6.83 million from 10:30-10:45 PM ET, was the most-watched FS1 program since the aforementioned 2019 ALCS Game 6. The game drew a 19.6 rating in Houston and an 18.5 in Boston.

Overall, the NLCS averaged 5.2 million viewers and the ALCS 4.75 million. Last year, the LCS averaged approximately 3.58 million despite both series going seven games. In 2019, the four-game NLCS (Nationals-Cardinals) averaged 4.01 million on TBS and the six-game ALCS (Astros-Yankees) 5.77 million on FS1.

TBS had its most-watched postseason since 2018, averaging 4.4 million for its games — up 95% from last year and up 21% from 2019.
